Bauer Lee- Bauer Power

These past four years have had their ups and downs. At one point I truly thought, “My high school experience has been a trepid crawl through the pits of hell,” but that’s just not true. I’ve made so many great memories, so to say all of high school has been terrible just isn’t fair. At the same time, I was relieved when teachers and parents started telling us that these four years shouldn’t be the best years of our lives. I don’t want this to be the climax to my life, because I hope to live for a long time, so I don’t want everything else to be downhill from here. I want to continue to relive and make new great memories while also learning from my mistakes.

High school has given me a great opportunity to figure stuff out about myself and the world around me. I’ve come up with my own beliefs, but I know there’s still so much more to learn. I’ve made my fair share of stupid mistakes, but I’ve learned from those mistakes. Slowly, I’m seeing my character improve.

Above: Lee dressed up as a greaser for this year’s sockhop homecoming. During his career at the school, Lee was involved with JROTC, Rocket Times, and young politicians.

My personality has changed so much as well. I’ve become more mature, and I try to watch the things I say and joke about. I’ve also become more confident in myself. That confidence has helped me be less socially awkward and more outgoing.

To relate this all to videogames, high school is just another long tutorial teaching us how to play the game of life. And no one should have more fun with the tutorial than the real game.
