With the threat of COVID-19 looming over The United States, over fifteen million fellow Americans have filed for unemployment. However, the workers at CCLR are still hard at work, providing services to loyal members.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These tough times have definitely put a damper on all of our social and academic lives. Some students have been working through the pandemic. Though I am working through these times, work has changed since the start of the pandemic. One of my duties as a golf attendant is to clean and detail golf carts. Previously we would spray and wipe off the cart; now we use a spray bottle of 80% rubbing alcohol to sanitize the cart thoroughly.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is kind of wild how fast things have changed,\u201d said junior Matthew Fellone. \u201cJust a month ago, everything was normal; now the whole world has flipped around on us. The only thing that is keeping me sane after doing school all day is going to work and getting to see my friends. It has kind of given me some perspective on how hard it could be for someone who has become unemployed since the whole virus thing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

While some have gained some perspective on the importance of work in the trying times, others have seen it as a new source of stress that is just being added to our already stress-filled lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is scary,\u201d said junior Noah Brown. \u201cAt The Country Club, we are trying to be as safe as we can. You can only be so careful dealing with quite a few people during the day. Our job is to assist golfers with anything they need. We deal with thirty people or more each day, and you can never know how careful that person is being or who they have been around.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I can see both\u00a0views. Being out of the house and getting to see your friends while making some money is excellent. However, it has added some stress. The confusion of online school, along with the extra workload with thoroughly washing and sanitizing all 53 of CCLR\u2019s golf carts, has added some extra work to our daily life.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is my opinion that after this pandemic is over, life, as usual, will not return to normal. The people of the entire world are undergoing something totally foreign to most of us. Those who are working now should be grateful for the opportunity to work and leave the house during this time of great panic not only in the United States but across the globe. Tough times never last, but tough people do.<\/span><\/p>\n
