Many people believe that games are won in the spur of the moment with big time players making big time plays. The truth is, these players would not be able to make these big time plays without work that was done during the offseason.<\/p>\n
\u201cI use the offseason to work on all my skills,\u201d said junior Luke Wewers. \u201cI try to hit every day and work out at least three days a week. On weekends, I play on a travel team.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wewers puts in all this offseason work at Proformance. \u201cProformance is a big AstroTurf indoor facility with six batting cages, two with mounds, a separate gym where you can work out, and an area for parents to sit,\u201d said Wewers. \u201cProformance is also a better deal than most batting cages and you are surrounded by guys whose goal it is to make you a better player.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI went to Proformance throughout my high school career,\u201d said William Hancock who now plays for the University of Central Arkansas. \u201cIt is a great place to train and get better. Anytime I have time over the holidays when I am home, I always go to Proformance and try to get some extra work in.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like the offseason is an important part of any sport,\u201d said junior Connor Breau. \u201cIn baseball the offseason is an important time to get bigger, faster, and stronger. Proformance allows you to do that because of their cages so you can work on your swing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wewers agreed with Breau. \u201cDuring the offseason, it’s really important to try to work out and get faster and improve on everything. You also need to refine everything and see what is working for you and what isn’t.\u201d<\/p>\n
The importance of the offseason could not be stressed enough for Wewers. \u201cDuring the offseason you are doing everything faster and harder so when you get out on the field during the spring or summer you are accustomed to the pace of the game and you can just react and play.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cProformance isn’t just for baseball,\u201d said Wewers. \u201cThey have experts at almost every sport and they will create a workout for you that will improve your game 100%.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cProformance is the ideal place for a baseball player to work out,\u201d said Hancock. \u201cWith all the batting cages, trainers, and baseball equipment, it is a baseball player\u2019s dream to be able to work out and train there.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe offseason is just an important time,\u201d said Hancock. \u201cProformance is a great environment to train in and get better in all areas of the game of baseball not just one.\u201d<\/p>\n
