Students have plenty of reasons to be worried about going to school.\u00a0 <\/span>Most students worry about things like the test they didn\u2019t study for, or the homework they never got around to doing the night before. However, a new fear has taken the school by storm: wasps.<\/p>\n

Recently, wasps have troubled several students, both in and out of school. One of these students was junior Will Perreault.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was sitting in chemistry class when I noticed a wasp flying around the room.\u00a0<\/span>I didn\u2019t pay much attention to it and was focusing on the lesson when people started yelling my name and saying the wasp was on my head.\u00a0<\/span>Mr. Edge told me not to move and began to move toward me with a rubber band around his finger.\u00a0<\/span>He pulled pack on then rubber band and shot the wasp clean off my head.\u00a0<\/span>I turned around and saw a dead wasp and a rubber band on the ground and the class went crazy,\u201d said Perreault.<\/p>\n

Perreault isn\u2019t the only student to experience wasps in the chemistry lab.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cLast year Mr. Edge gave us all rubber bands and told us to start shooting them at the wasps on the ceiling,\u201d said senior David Bultena.<\/p>\n

On the second day of school, a wasp made an advance on junior Peyton Adams.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was sitting in Mass when out of the corner of my eye, I saw something flying around. Before I had time to react, the wasp flew straight toward my face and stung me right between my eyes.\u00a0 <\/span>I had to refrain from explicit outbursts because I was in Mass,\u201d said Adams.<\/p>\n

Junior Noah Black-Ocken, who was sitting next to Adams during the incident, was happy to share some insight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw the wasp hovering around us and I was a little worried, but I didn\u2019t say anything because I wanted to be respectful during Mass.\u00a0<\/span>The wasp flew right into Peyton\u2019s face,\u201d said Black-Ocken.<\/p>\n

Junior Charlie Singkhek is a third student who has had a wasp-related episode recently. Singkhek said, \u201cI was at home with a new BB gun when I saw a wasp.\u00a0 <\/span>It was in a small crevice behind my window.\u00a0 <\/span>I tried to shoot it with my BB gun, but I missed and the wasp flew toward me.\u00a0 <\/span>As I tried to defend myself, the wasp stung my\u00a0arm.\u00a0 <\/span>I mixed together five creams that my father gave to me.\u00a0 <\/span>They were all natural Asian remedial creams.\u00a0 <\/span>The creams had an icy-hot cooling effect and it made my wrist feel like it was on fire, but it felt good because it kept me from itching it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe next day I went to see Ms. Mabrey because my wrist was red and swollen.\u00a0 <\/span>She checked my blood pressure and gave me some more cream.\u00a0 <\/span>She didn\u2019t have any Benadryl, but Brother Richard had some for Zeke and he gave it to me.\u00a0 <\/span>Mrs. Finnegan insisted I see a walk-in doctor because I needed steroid antibiotics.\u00a0 <\/span>I went to the doctor after school and he gave me some steroids. I wasn\u2019t sure how much I was supposed to take so I took nine in one day and the next day I was better.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis school is a dangerous place,\u201d said Adams, \u201cBeware of the wasp.\u201d<\/p>\n
